Sunday, December 8, is the Second day of the second Week of Advent. Santa will be here for pictures with the children. We ask that families have the children bring canned goods and/or other non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Christian Help Center of Person County.
Sunday, December 8: In addition to the regular Sunday Masses, there will be a 5:00 PM Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A Holy Day of Obligation Daily Mass will be held on Monday, December 9, at 9:30 AM. Because the Blessed Virgin is the Patron Saint of the United States, the Pope has transferred the Obligation to Monday. The Obligation for other Holy Days that fall on Saturday or Monday do not transfer.
This year's Advent Penance Service is on Monday, December 9at 7:00 PM.
There will be activities for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday, December 11, and Thursday, December 12. Over the next two weeks, check the bulletin for all of the details, including the Rosary, Traditional Dances, and Mass times.
Sunday, December 15, is the Third Sunday of Advent. Faith Formation students will present our Annual Christmas Pageant following 10:00 AM Mass. Santa might be here again for more picture-taking, too, and he hopes the children will bring food for the poor again. We’ll confirm whether or not he has time to visit again in the bulletin. Be sure to check.
On Monday, December 16, Posadas will begin reenacting Mary and Joseph’s travels from Nazareth to Bethlehem and their search for a place for the Baby Jesus to be born. Watch the bulletin for more details.
Tuesday, December 24—Children’s Mass 5:00 PM This Mass will be celebrated in the Price Building. Faith Formation children will present the Annual Christmas Pageant immediately after the Gospel Reading. Mass will resume following the presentation.
‘Midnight Mass’ in the Church—Our Christmas Eve nighttime Mass is celebrated at 11:00 PM and ends at midnight. All are invited to come early for Carols, beginning at 10:30 PM.
Wednesday, December 25—Celebrating the Birth of Jesus; Emmanuel has come to be with us. Christmas Day Mass will be celebrated in the Price Building at 10:00 AM.
Wednesday, December 31—New Year’s Eve: The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. The Vigil for this Holy Day of Obligation will be held at 7:00 PM in the Price Building.
Thursday, January 1—First Day of the New Year, 2025. The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the Price Building.
